Commitment to privacy

Privacy is of the utmost importance to the Centre collégial de développement de matériel didactique (CCDMD). The CCDMD is therefore committed to respecting the confidentiality of all the personal information collected.

The purpose of these Privacy Guidelines is to inform you of our practices with respect to your personal or confidential information. It also specifies your rights with respect to that information.

Collection of personal information

“Personal information” refers to information about an identified or identifiable individual. Through its websites, the CCDMD only collects personal information that is necessary for the purposes for which it is collected.

Depending on the different collection methods, the following data may be collected, in whole or in part, on CCDMD sites.

Note: The CCDMD’s transactional site uses an external payment service (PayPal) to manage financial transactions. No financial data is collected directly on the CCDMD’s servers. The payment service collects this information directly from the user, in accordance with its terms of use, and the CCDMD’s site never has access to this information.

Log files and cookies

The CCDMD collects data about your browsing experience on its sites using log files and cookies. These small text files are stored on your device when you visit a site. Some cookies are essential to the use of CCDMD sites, while others collect information about your browsing habits. This information is not linked to any personally identifiable information, but it can provide you with a more personalized and user-friendly web experience. The use of such files is also used for statistical purposes by allowing the CCDMD to learn what information and services are of most interest to visitors to its sites. This data will be used to improve the effectiveness and reliability of CCDMD sites.

Data collected include:

which pages were visited;
date and time when these pages were viewed;
time spent on each page viewed;
region where the connection was made (geolocalization);
information about the browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and the type of device used (cell phone, computer, Mac or PC, etc.);
IP address;
referral URL (the site from which the pages were accessed).

CCDMD sites also use the Google Analytics data collection tool to compile usage statistics using cookies. Google Analytics does not disclose information to third parties (unless they are required to by law or court order). For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy. You can disable data collection by downloading and installing Google Analytics’ opt-out browser add-on.

When you browse CCDMD sites, third-party cookies may be stored on your computer, for example, if you use social networks sharing buttons to share content from CCDMD sites or if you make a credit card payment through the PayPal platform on the CCDMD transactional site. Cookies opt-out

You may also configure your browser software to disable the storage of cookies by following the instructions provided in your browser.

If you choose to disable cookies, you can continue to browse CCDMD sites, but your browsing experience may be more difficult, and you may have access to fewer services.

The CCDMD is not responsible for links to other sites operated by third parties or the activities, products, services, or content they offer, and has no control over their use of the information you provide when visiting these sites. Right of objection and right of withdrawal

The CCDMD is committed to recognize your right to object and withdraw with regard to your personal information.

The right to object refers to the option for users to refuse that their personal information be used for certain purposes mentioned at the time of collection.

The right of withdrawal is the option for users to request that their personal information no longer appears, for example, on a mailing list.

Security

All personal information collected on CCDMD sites is kept in a secure environment. The CCDMD staff are required to respect the confidentiality of your information.

To ensure the security of your personal information, the CCDMD follows the following standards:

The CCDMD is committed to maintaining a high degree of confidentiality regarding your personal information. However, since there is no option for optimal security, there is always some degree of risk when you use the Internet to share personal information.
