The Introduction aux charpentes d’acier textbook is mainly aimed at students in Civil Engineering Technology.
In addition to providing examples of calculations and numerous figures that facilitate understanding of theoretical concepts, this work uses a three-dimensional model building to realistically illustrate all the elements that make up a steel frame.
In the first half of the textbook, the characteristics of the steel and profiles used in frames are presented. The model building is then introduced. The second half of the textbook is devoted to drawing presentation standards, limit state calculation concepts, and the preliminary design of the gravity load resistance system. The legal aspect to be considered and the responsibilities of each stakeholder in carrying out a steel frame project is then discussed.
