On Monday, May 15 at Dawson College, the results of the 12th edition of the World of Images Intercollegiate Photo Contest were unveiled.
This edition ended on March 8, 2023, and 1,396 photos were submitted by 323 participants (309 students and 14 network staff members) from 51 college institutions.
The organizing committee preselected photos in each category (Student and College Network Staff), and the jury, made up of seven judges, selected the photos of the finalists: 33 photos from students and 7 from the network staff. The deliberations, which took place on Thursday, April 13, 2023, allowed the jury to determine the winners among these finalists.
Thank you to the members of the jury:
- Honorary chair: Caroline Hayeur, photographer;
- Florence LeBlanc, photographer;
- Pierre Robert, visual arts instructor, Collège Lionel-Groulx;
- Pierre Arsenault, visual arts instructor, Dawson College;
- Marjolaine Poirier, art historian;
- Manuel Podeur, 2nd-place winner of the 2021-2022 contest;

This year, as in previous editions, the contest awarded $3,000 in grants for the students: 5 prizes and the People’s Choice award. A single prize was also set aside for the Network Staff category: a book produced by one of the photographers who served as honorary chair of the contest in recent years. Honourable mentions were also made to highlight the quality of certain photos among the 40 finalist’s works.
