What’s new in the CCDMD catalogue

December 9, 2013

The CCDMD catalogue recently added two new products: the Jazz Harmony textbook and the Activité-projet website.

Jazz Harmony

As a textbook that teaches and explains harmony, Jazz Harmony, the English version of Harmonie-Jazz, is a valuable, effective and accessible tool. Written by Richard Ferland and translated by Joe Sullivan, this textbook focuses on the major musical movements of jazz and Western pop music.

It reveals a few simple tricks of the arranger’s and composer’s trade and reviews a few often-overlooked harmony rules. This book will be especially useful to people who want to learn the widely used American system for numbering chords.

Activité-projet

The Activité-projet website goes with the second edition of Danièle Pelletier’s textbook Activité-projet. Pour le développement global de l'enfant, written in collaboration with Gilles Cantin and Céline Perreault and published by Modulo in 2010.

It is for students in the Early Childhood Education Techniques program or anyone who works with children in the preschool or early school years and who wants to foster their development. The site offers informative content in the form of texts and videos illustrating several project-activities carried out with children in different age groups.
